Academic Expectations

1. A well organized binder including all handouts and homework. Binder should
be organized in 5 sections- 1)vocabulary, 2) verbs & grammar, 3) homework & 4) opening activities, and 5) phrase of the day.

2. All assignments, quizzes and projects must include name, date and page # .

3. Homework on a daily basis receives credit rather than a grade. No credit is received for late work as we often correct work in class. If a completed assignment has too many errors a “Fix and return for credit” will be noted and the work must be corrected and turned in for credit by the next class.
4. Homework will be corrected in class. If you do not make corrections at that
time, the assignment will not receive credit. Corrections are useful for review
before a quiz or test.

5. Quiz & exam make up: Students can retake quizzes up to 88 (B) first trimester, 8O (C) second trimester and no retakes on quizzes last trimester. Exams can not be retaken. Students have one week to make up quizzes and exams due to absence.

6. Longer assignments will count as quizzes.

7. There are about two quizzes/ week and an exam after each chapter. Exams
include similar questions to what is on the quizzes. Quizzes contain material covered in class and on homework.
8. Work done using a translator will not be accepted and will automatically receive
a “0”. Translators can be misleading and often incorporate vocabulary and
grammatical structures that students have not yet learned.

Laptops
The laptops will be gradually incorporated into the program and will be used for
research for projects, web searches and a variety of other activities.
The possibilities are endless! On my website there are numerous links to helpful review sites with games and activities!
